Dhaval is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals. He has an extensive background in general urology and has developed a subspecialist interest in endourology and the prevention and treatment of stone disease, treating complex cases from other hospitals.
He graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1997 completing his basic surgical training in the West Midlands. During this time, he undertook a period of research in prostate cancer, gaining an MD. He then returned to the East Midlands where he trained in general urology, latterly completing a fellowship abroad in complex stone disease.
Dhaval was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in Leicester where he introduced new stone services to the hospital prior to his appointment in Nottingham, one of the biggest stone units in the country.
As well as his busy clinical practice, he has a keen interest in training and education and is currently the Training Programme Director in Urology for the East Midlands and a member of the National Specialist Advisory Committee overseeing Urological training in the UK. He has lectured at national training courses and presented both nationally and internationally.
Dhaval is married to a local GP and has two young children. Outside work he has a keen interest in travelling and cricket.
